Lived Experience Diagnosed with EDS, POTS, and associated comorbidities from infancy. Raising children with the same circumstances.

I was diagnosed with chronic illness in infancy, which means I've never had a "before" version of myself to grieve. This body has always been my baseline. Instead of rebuilding a life after illness, I've built one within it.

"Pain is data, not destiny."

My work explores what that actually looks like in practice — raising a family, travelling, making memories, managing pain, and navigating everyday life while negotiating physical limitations. The focus isn't on tragedy or toxic positivity. It's on pragmatic resilience.

I'm the creator of Built Anyway, a YouTube channel and TikTok platform (over one million views) about constructing a full life inside an unreliable body. The channel has become a home for the EDS, POTS, and dysautonomia community — people who are tired of being told their only options are despair or relentless positivity.

I'm currently working on my first book: a practical family guide to EDS and associated comorbidities, written for the whole family unit. Drawing on my academic background in psychology and counselling, my clinical training, and twenty-plus years of lived experience, it's the book I wish had existed when I was first raising children with my conditions.

For the whole
family unit.

Most books about chronic illness are written to the sick person. This one is written for everyone around them too.

A practical guide to life with EDS and associated comorbidities — for the person living it, the parents raising them, the partners supporting them, and the children who didn't ask to inherit any of this.

How do you raise a child with EDS without accidentally teaching them that they're fragile? How do you be parented when your parent doesn't have it? How do you support someone you love without diminishing them?

These are questions I've been living for decades. This is the book I needed and couldn't find.
